Gambling Activity Foiled

​A cock-fighting and 'katam-katam' gambling activities at Kampung Panchong, Mukim Lamunin in Tutong District were successfully foiled after the Royal Brunei Police Force raided the area. 10 locals and foreigners who were suspected of being involved in gambling activities were arrested in the raid.

 

Several roosters, gambling apparatus and cash believed to be used for gambling were also seized. All suspects and evidence were taken to the Tutong Police Station for further investigation. The suspects are being investigated under Section 7 of the Common Gaming Houses Act, Chapter 28, which is gaming in public place that can lead to a fine of $2,500 and 6 months imprisonment.
