The task of balancing the imperative to provide high-quality care with the need to control costs and navigate bureaucratic red tape constitutes one of the major challenges in the healthcare industry today. It calls for leaders who are not only visionary but also pragmatic, resourceful and resilient.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Healthcare Leadership Executive Programme, HLEP, the Minister of Health stressed the importance of not overlooking the human component of healthcare leadership, where caring for patients, nurturing healthcare teams and fostering a culture of compassion and collaboration are crucial.

Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohammad Isham bin Haji Jaafar added, leaders must confront the  challenges head-on, spearheading initiatives that prioritise the well-being of both patients and providers, and working tirelessly to create environments where everyone can thrive.

HLEP is a joint collaboration programme between the Ministry of Health and Singapore Health Service Private Limited, SingHealth, Singapore. The programme, attended by more than 50 participants, is a structured leadership programme, comprising management and leadership components focused particularly on the healthcare industry. The Opening Ceremony of the Program took place 13th May morning, at a hotel in Gadong.
