KIULAP

The Employees Trust Fund, TAP through the Enforcement Unit recently made a visit to business premises in Kampung Kiulap to ensure every employee has a retirement fund.

During the visit, 51 business premises were inspected. TAP found there were employers who fail to register and pay contributions to 14 local employees who meet the requirements for the National Retirement Scheme, SPK. In a press release, TAP stressed that every employer is responsible to register and pay SPK contributions to eligible employees, and this includes temporary, contract and daily paid employees as well as employees under the probation period. Under Section 35 (1) of the National Retirement Scheme Order 2023, employers, if found guilty, can be fined not less than $3,000 for the first offence, and not exceeding $10,000 for the second and subsequent offences.
