The Royal Brunei Police Force reminds the public to always obey the laws and regulations in the country. The advice was shared after a fishing activity was detected in the Oil Rig Security Zone, during a joint operation focused on oil rigs in the country.

During the operation, a boat with 5 local people was detained and taken to the Marine Police for further action. The case is investigated under section 1-3-2 (6) of the Merchant Shipping Regulations 2002 which is entering the Oil Rig security zone.  Upon conviction can be sentenced to a fine of not more than ONE HUNDRED thousand dollars or imprisonment of not more than 10 years or both.
