His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam arrived in Bangkok, Thailand. 2024 marks the 40th anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between Brunei Darussalam and Thailand since it was established on 1st January 1984. The Official Visit will also provide an opportunity for both countries to discuss bilateral as well as regional and international issues of mutual interest.

Upon arrival at Suvarnabhumi International Airport in Bangkok, His Majesty was welcomed by His Excellency Srettha Thavisin, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand. Also present to greet His Majesty on arrival were Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Erywan bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Haji Mohd. Yusof, Second Minister of Foreign Affairs; and His Excellency Pengiran Haji Sahari bin Pengiran Haji Salleh, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Brunei Darussalam to the Kingdom of Thailand.

His Majesty was then introduced to His Excellency Pirapan Salirathavibhaga, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy, as the Minister-in-Attendance; and Her Excellency Boosara Kanchanalai, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Thailand to Brunei Darussalam.
