​Since pre-history era, beads were a popular item in regional and international trade. The Beads Exhibition: 1000 Years in conjunction with International Museum Day 2024, give an opportunity to the community to take a closer look at the discovery of artefact collections, especially bead materials from archaeological sites in Brunei Darussalam.

The discovery collection of beaded materials from four archaeological sites namely Kota Batu, Sungai Limau Manis, Sungai Lumut and the Brunei Shipwreck sites were among those highlighted in the exhibition. The discovery plays an important role in early cultural evolution in Brunei. It also reflects a symbol of ancient remains by the people of Brunei more than a thousand years ago.
