Eating Healthy Food Programme is
currently being observed for the whole stretch of the second term at
PDS International School.
The campaign took off with daily
programmes held in the school strongly promoting healthy living and
proper daily nutrition.
"Healthy food like vegetables are
commonly ignored during meal time by the young tots," said teacher
Ramon Baer of the school, "And kids must know how rich and nutritious
these green and yellow food are just like their favourite fried
chicken and roasted beef."
"Fruits and vegetables are very rich
sources of fibre, vitamins and minerals," he added.
To further promote the programme
effectively, the students visited the Pasar Gadong in order to have a
first hand exposure to fresh vegetables, meat and seafood.
The tour around the market was both
educational and fun where they were introduced to different kinds of
vegetables and fruits as they walked around the marketplace which took
place like a guessing game.
Helpful and informative posters about
healthy foods were also placed everywhere around the hallways of the
school and real fruits and vegetables are also brought to school as
part of effective campaigning of the programme.
