HRH Prince Bolkiah Attends Sixth
ASEM Meeting In Ireland

Dublin –
His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, Minister of Foreign Affairs
attended a number of meeting and functions on the first day of the
Sixth ASEM Foreign Ministers' meeting at the Kildare Club House in
Ireland.
Earlier His Royal Highness met with
Asean Ministerial colleagues at an informal gathering.
The Asean member countries of ASEM
are Brunei, China, Indonesia, Japan Malaysia, Philippines, Republic of
Korea, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
His Royal Highness later held a
bilateral meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of China, Mr Li
Zhao Xing.
During the meeting, His Royal
Highness and the Chinese Foreign Affairs Minister discussed bilateral
matters and exchange views in regional and international issues of
mutual concern.
Then His Royal Highness joined ASEM
ministers at the official opening of the Sixth ASEM Foreign Minister's
meeting. The meeting discussed a wide range of topics, which focused
on the theme, 'How Asia-Europe can sustain an international order
based on effective multilateralism'.
The meeting also focused on issues of
mutual concern to the two regions.
In the evening the ministers were
hosted at a working dinner by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of
Ireland, Mr Brian Cowen. --
