RBPF Kindergarten Kids Treated To 'Graduation Of Appreciation'
Bandar Seri Begawan - As Part of the many annual activities hosted by the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF), kindergarten children whose parents are in service are annually awarded with certificates and awards for graduating at the RBPF Kindergarten, to encourage them to study hard for the rest of their school years.
During yesterday's certificate and awards presentation ceremony for 58 pupils who recently graduated, RBPF Public Relations officer Sergeant Major Zainal Abidin Sahari said the annual event was held to encourage and motivate pupils to study harder for their future.
"We also host this event to show their parents that we appreciate the pupils," he added.
Out of the 58 pupils who received certificates, 15 of them also received best pupil awards for performing well academically.
Siti Nuratika Sri Mu'minnah, whose sister received a best pupil award told The Brunei Times that she was excited and happy that her sibling received the award.
"I did not expect her to get the award because she seems so spoilt."
She added that she hoped it would encourage her sister to study harder in the future. "Kindergarten is the starting level of a child's education. It is like the foundation of education, and it must be good,"Siti Nuratika said.
Police officer, Jonity Kuyin whose daughter also received a best pupil award said he felt "very proud" because he had helped her revise everyday.
"I hope this awards ceremony will motivate my daughter to study harder when she enters the primary school," he said.
Kuyin explained that kindergarten was the basic foundation that pupils needed to do well in for them to achieve good results throughout their course of education. "Children learn so many things when they are at kindergarten like basic things such as reading and writing and that is important," he added.
Prior to the certificates and awards presentation ceremony, the pupils entertained guests with three dance performances.
On hand to present the certificates and awards to the pupils were Hjh Siti Hussin, wife of the Acting Senior Assistant Commissioner of RBPF and Acting Principal of RBPF's Kindergarten Hjh Asmah Hj Sulaiman respectively.
