Bandar Seri Begawan - The logo for this year's national day celebration was unveiled by Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Pehin Orang Kaya Setia Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Dr Hj Ahmad Hj Jumat yesterday, during the 3rd Executive Committee meetingthe 26th National Day celebrations at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports building.
The golden yellow outline symbolises Brunei being a country ruled by a Sultan entrusted to administer the country through sources blessed by Allah (SWT) The triangular outline symbolises efforts towards achieving and supporting the call for Zikir Nation, in line with the nation's Malay Islamic Monarchy (MIS) philosophy.

The green and blue crescent moon represents Islam and brings with it the understanding of safety, prosperity and peace. It is also a representation of the patriotic spirit of Brunei's community who will continue to practise and strenthen it from time to time.
The panji-panji (emblem) on the other hand symbolises the identity of the country that should be exalted and supported with patriotism.
Branching from the panji panji is a blackstalk creatively designed to support the panji panji as show of tolerance and being neighbourly within the community and the world.
The end of the stalk is formed into Arabic number 26, signifying the 26th National Day celebrations.
Meanwhile enclosed in the crescent is "My Country Brunei Darussalam"(Negaraku Brunei Darussalam) written in Jawi, representing the pride of Bruneians who constantly embrace the culture in maintaining the originality and beauty of the country's culture
based on MIB, The Romans characters which spell "Negaraku Brunei Darussalam" is connected to the crescent to show that Brunei is an Islamic country.
It also represents unity in upholding the sanctity of the religion, peace, sovereignty of the monarchy system and glory of the race. -- Courtesy of The Brunei Times
