Don't Underestimate Australian Universities
I want to comment about what a writer name ‘honored' commented on the honours thing. First of all, I am one of those who got a good A level grades and went to Australia to get a Bachelors degree. Why I chose to go to Australia is because I am a PR and so not privileged enough to get a scholarship to the UK.
Going to Australia is cheaper and also their degrees are internationally recognized. How do you know that Australian degrees are easy? Have you studied there before? Please don't come to the conclusion just like that. I think it's not easy to get a degree whereever you study. There are people who study hard for A levels then go to universities to pursue their dream. They should have a chance to get a scholarship to pursue their Masters regardless where they got their bachelors degree. I totally agree that the scholarship section should consider this honours/no honours issue.
I recently got the citizenship and wanted to try for gov't scholarship but was turned down because of this. To the officials in the scholarship section, please look into this and be fair to everyone whether they study in Brunei, UK or Australia. We just need that one chance to further our studies and also contribute to our beloved country.

Australia's GDP per capita and unemployment rate is much lower than the UK. Add to that, I feel I have a better quality of life (with blue skies, sunny beaches, a tolerant society, equality in employment, etc.). Plus, because of the recent economic boom most of us local Bruneians have made decent money from growing property values. Sure we're not sultan rich, but we can afford to eat out, go on holidays, etc.
Admittedly the UK is better for visiting, etc. (if you're into European history), but I prefer Australia's close vicinity to Asia (China, HK, India, Japan, Indonesia, Russia, etc.) - lots more potential there.
