COVID-19 Cases In Philippines Surge To 226,440 With 2,218 New Reported Cases

MANILA

 

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Philippines surged to 226,440 after the Department of Health (DOH) reported 2,218 new daily cases on Wednesday.

 

The DOH said that the number of recoveries rose to 158,610 after it reported 609 more patients have survived the disease.

 

The DOH added that 27 more patients have died from the viral disease, bringing the death toll to 3,623.

 

Metro Manila topped the five regions or provinces with the highest number of daily confirmed cases on Wednesday at 1,163, followed by Laguna province, south of Manila, 112; Cebu province in the central Philippines, 107; Iloilo province in the central Philippines, 82; and Negros Occidental in the central Philippines, 81.
