Residents of Kg Pelambayan Participated in Charity Walkathon

KG PELAMBAYAN, BRUNEI-MUARA
Dozens of residents of Kampong Pelambayan participated in the charity walkathon organised by Kampong Pelambayan Village Consultative Council (MPK Kampong Pelambayan) at the residence of the Village Head of Kampong Pelambayan, Awang Haji Hanipah bin Begawan Pehin Udana Khatib Haji Junit.
The 7th Charity Sale and Walkathon Charity Event 2016 was launched on April 1 and saw various activities that aimed to help village residents increase their income and to expose the youth to healthy activities.
Present as the guest of honour was Awang Misle bin Haji Abdul Karim, Acting District Officer of Brunei-Muara District.
In an interview, Haji Hanipah underlined that the walkathon was part of a charity drive and that several activities were conducted for children, youths and senior citizens as part of the event.
He also shared that 30 per cent of the proceeds collected from the event will be donated to the Kampong Pelambayan Orphans Fund and the donation will be presented during the month of Ramadhan.
Prior to the walkathon, a warm-up and aerobic session led by Awang Mohd Darus bin Tanjung from Youth and Sports Department at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, was conducted.

It was followed by the walkathon which began at the residence of the Village Head and proceeded to Queen Elizabeth bridge of Kota Batu before turning back to the starting point.
