The Acting High Commissioner of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Brunei Darussalam, Ahmed Ali Sirohey, recently opened a blood donation campaign at the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital in conjunction with current festivities and as guest of honour also donated blood himself.
About 100 Brunei-based Pakistanis, including the High Commission's staff members, took part in the four-hour campaign.
The guest of honour at the event also encouraged people to donate to the needy, adding that the best gift for a terminally ill person is blood donated in time.
The high commission coordinated efforts for the campaigned and worked for its success in collaboration with Pakistani doctors and citizens living in the Sultanate.
Health officials opened the blood bank and received donors with warmth. A big number of donors was then screened and allowed to donate towards the good cause.
