A Bangladeshi man was sentenced to 13 months imprisonment starting yesterday after pleading guilty and failing to pay a fine of 18 thousand dollars for offences under Section 146 bracket 1 D, of the Excise Order 2006.

28 year old Mohammad Shohel Hussain, pled guilty to possession of 20 cartons and 22 packs of cigarettes of various brands during an arrest by enforcement officers from the Royal Customs and Excise Department, made on the 22nd of November at Jalan Pasir Berakas. All items were seized to be destroyed.
