Skydiver Tries To Catch Pokemon In Mid-Air But It Doesn’t Go Wel

The frustration is real (Picture: CEN)

Judging by how many Pidgeys are wandering our streets, it’s fair to assume there are a fair few bird Pokemon in the skies too.

But you’d be wrong, as a skydiver proved when he tried to catch a Pokemon in the moments after jumping out of a plane.

The daredevil known only as Drasko P. wanted to snag one of the creatures while falling 5,000 feet, because why not?

His efforts were wasted though when Pokemon Go, which had picked up a signal before his leap of faith, let him down, making the whole episode pointless but fun.

A video of his attempt shows the skydiver is not too pleased, as when he lands he shouts: ‘F*ck the Pokemon, it’s not working in the sky.’

After making the jump near Lisicji Jarak Airport in Belgrade, Serbia, the player asked Pokemon Go masterminds Niantic to ‘fix the bug’.

He said: ‘Under 2,000 feet I had full GPS and mobile network signal and I was trying until 500 feet from the ground, but with no luck.

‘So I hope they will resolve this bug for us so that skydivers can also play the game in the sky!’

It’s a risky strategy – if dropping a phone in the kitchen can crack the screen, the damage from a 5,000ft fall would be pretty intense.

But to be fair to Drasko, although the game’s creators Niantic have told people not to Pokemon and drive, there is no such warning for skydiving.

Last month, another skydiver managed to catch a Caterpie while floating back down to Earth.
