Drama In Daytime: How The View, LIVE! With Kelly, The Real And More Shows Are Keeping Our Summer Unpredictable

If you're not turning on the TV during the day, you're missing a whole lot.

While summer may mean reruns and hiatuses for your favorite primetime shows, many programs in daytime carry on with all-new episodes. Along the way, the hot months have proven to be a dramatic time for some long-standing programs.

Just this week alone, speculation ran rampant about who was staying and who was going for The View's 20th season. Meanwhile at The Talk, Sharon Osbourne was breaking down in tears after Ozzy Osbourne's struggle with sex addiction was revealed in the public.

What we're trying to say is: Wake up and smell the coffee! Daytime TV is keeping us on our toes.

It all started when Michael Strahan announced he was leaving LIVE! to become a full-time correspondent on Good Morning America. The news was a shock to Kelly Ripa who took time off before returning with a powerful speech on communication in the work place.

While Michael's final show was back in May, not a week goes by where there isn't a famous face added to the mix of possible future co-hosts. An announcement could come as late as September.

Over at The Real, viewers were shocked to read that Tamar Braxton would not be returning for the new season this fall. In fact, co-host Loni Love admitted she was completely caught off guard when she got a group text with the news.

"When we wrapped our show for season two, we had a photo shoot. Tamar was a part of that," Loni explained. "We were planning on going to Essence. She was part of that. There was no indication that Tamar was going to be let go…We genuinely all like each other."

A new co-host has yet to be named and despite speculation that Keke Palmer would be added to the panel, the actress denied it on Twitter.

While fans may tune into The View each and every morning for the latest hot-button issues, the show has been a hot topic of its own with speculation as to who is staying and who is going. In fact, reports came out this week that Whoopi Goldberg and Paula Faris were feuding—a claim that the ladies squashed in the perfect way with one Instagram post.

So what's the truth? Whoopi will continue moderating the panel with Joy Behar, Candace Cameron Bure, Paula and Raven-Symoné returning as well. Sara Haines will be joining the show as a regular this September while Jedediah Bila and Sunny Hostin will continue to appear frequently.

And while The Talk hasn't had any casting shakeups, it's hard not to point out some of the buzzed about moments from the past several months.

When news broke that Aisha Tyler was separating from her husband after more than 20 years, it was The Talk where she opened up about the decision.

"He's the person who has influenced me and cared for me the most. In fact, he cared for me even longer than my parents have cared for me and it's very hard when you love someone very much to also start to realize that maybe you want different things for your lives," she explained through tears. "That's a very difficult realization to come to and you don't want to accept it and you don't want to believe it."

And when Sharon experienced headlines about her marriage to Ozzy, she made sure her supportive co-hosts were around when she gave her side of the story.

"I honestly don't know what I would do without everybody here for the support. It's amazing," Sharon shared on the CBS series. "It's really hard to kind of sit here and you think it's happening to somebody else but it's actually happening to you."

Like we said before, maybe your TV should be on during the day.
