The team Managers Meeting of Traditional Boat Race Brunei Darussalam Regatta 2016 was held yesterday at the Theatre Hall of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Berakas.

The Brunei Regatta Challenge Trophy is sponsored by His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.

The meeting, chaired by the President of Brunei Darussalam National Boat Race Association (PERKEBAR), Awang Haji Harris bin Haji Ibrahim, focused on the information, rule and regulations as well as techniques of the race, in addition to event arrangements and a Q&A session with the organising committee. The highlight of yesterday's meeting yesterday was voting for the lane number among the participating teams.

The Brunei Regatta will be held on August 14 at the Brunei River.

Team Putera Kuala Lawas from Malaysia will also defend its title in the 30-rower traditional boat marathon race at this year's regatta.

The Brunei Darussalam Regatta 2016 is organised by Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA), Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism (MPRT), and Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) in conjunction with His Majesty's 70th birthday celebrations.
