Veteran Athletes Bagged 3 Gold, 3 Silver at Salatiga Masters Athletics Championships in Indonesia

JAVA, INDONESIA

 

Brunei veteran athletes triumphed at Salatiga Masters Athletics Championships which concluded yesterday in Java, Indonesia.

 

The athletes bagged three gold and three silver medals.

 

Haji Othman bin Haji Lahab grabbed a gold medal in the 3,000-metre walk while Haji Abdul Rani bin Haji Metassan also made the country proud by winning a gold medal in the long jump.

 

Hajah Mariah binti Haji Metussin also walked away with one gold medal in discuss throw.

 

Haji Othman bin Lahab won three silver medals in long jump, 1,500-metre run and 100-metre dash category.

 

The three-day meet started on August 5. The group was led by Awang Haji Abu Bakar bin Haji Pungut, Secretary II of the Veteran Athletes Association.

 

They will also participate in the Singapore Masters in September; World Masters in Perth in October and November and Malaysian meet in November.
