During a trip to Brazil to attend the opening of the 31st Olympic Games in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah, President of Brunei Darussalam National Olympic Council (BDNOC) also attended a briefing on the Baku 2017 Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation games on August 7 at Windsor Barra Hotel.

His Royal Highness, a member of the FIFA organising committee for the Olympic Football tournament and president of the National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam, also watched the men's football match at the Rio Olympic Games between Portugal against Honduras that ended with the score of 2-1 in favour of Portugal; followed by another match between Argentina and Algeria, where Argentina came out on top with a score of 2-1. Both matches were played at the Olympic Stadium.

On Saturday, His Royal Highness managed to catch the women's football match between Brazil against Sweden, where Brazil hammered Sweden with a 5-1 score at the Olympic Stadium.
