A nineteen-year-old Indonesian woman was formally charged with infanticide yesterday, and was ordered by the Magistrate's Court to be remanded at the Jerudong Prison, pending further investigation.
The defendant, Desi Thania, is alleged to have caused the death of her newborn baby girl, by throwing the infant into the Brunei River from the toilet window of a house at Kampong Sungai Besar, at 3am, on August 7.
