The Brunei Chess Federation in collaboration with Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Secondary School, the Department of Co-curriculum Education and main sponsor DST Communication Sdn Bhd are inviting the public as well as schools and higher institutions to participate in the DST National Age Group Chess Championship 2016.

The event is part of the series of tournaments under Chess in School Programme (LISP) initiated by the Brunei Chess Federation (BCF) since 2015, according to a press release.

The event will be held at the hall of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Secondary School on Sunday, August 14, 2016 from 8am-4pm.

Registration will remain open until 6pm, Saturday, August 13.

Interested players can register for the tournament by completing the registration form at the Brunei Chess Centre or contacting the BCF Tournament Director via phone number +6738126037.

The competition will be divided into three categories, namely Under 20, Under 16 and Under 12.

There will be over 70 prizes available for the main categories: Best Girls in all categories, Best Junior U10, and Best School winners as well as awards for youngest participants.
