His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, yesterday afternoon received in audience Shaarik Zafar, the United States Department of State's Representative to Muslim Communities, who is on a two-day visit to the country.

During the audience ceremony, His Majesty and Shaarik Zafar discussed bilateral relations between Brunei Darussalam and the United States of America, as well as exchanged views on regional and international matters.

Accompanying Shaarik Zafar during the audience ceremony was Mark Dieker, Charge d'Affaires of the United States Embassy in Brunei Darussalam.

Also present was Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Dewa Dato Seri Setia Lim Jock Seng, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade II.

The ceremony took place at Istana Nurul Iman.
