The Information Department has once again held its briefing programme on 'Embracing the National Flag and National Anthem' in its continuous efforts towards instilling and inculcating the spirit of patriotism, solidarity and nationalism across the younger generation.

Yesterday, the briefing was delivered at the Sayyidina Hasan Secondary School in Tanjung Bunut, Kilanas and was attended by more than 100 students of Year 7.

The briefing was facilitated by Information Officer, Awang Haji Dayang bin Haji Kassim.

The briefing yesterday started with the singing of the national anthem 'Allah Peliharakan Sultan' and the patriotic song 'Bendera Negara'.

It then continued with a video presentation on the national flag followed by a briefing on the history of the national anthem and flag as well as an explanation to the students of its meaning, concept and spirit.

Quizzes related to the topics that were delivered to the students earlier took place shortly after the briefing.

The aims of the briefing were to increase the students' understanding as well as to enhance the appreciation on the meaning of the national flag and anthem.

At the same time, it is hoped that the participants will develop a sense of solidarity, patriotism and nationalism as well as love towards the nation, monarch and religion.
