​A foreign woman pleaded guilty and was sentenced to a 4 thousand dollar fine by the Bandar Seri Begawan Magistrate's Court for an offence under section 26 1 'A' , Road Traffic Act Chapter 68 for driving under the influence. In default, the defendant will be sentenced to four weeks imprisonment.

Eveline Anak Jampi, aged 49, was found guilty for driving under the influence, resulting in an accident involving three other vehicles at the Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah Highway. This was her second offence. During the case mention, the defendant pleaded guilty based on the alcohol content in her blood which exceeded the permitted limit. The court also ordered the defendant's driving licence to be suspended and prohibited from obtaining any class license for three years starting yesterday.
