This is the brilliant moment that an elderly amputee effortlessly scaled the top of a rock climbing wall – despite losing a limb as she attempted the arduous task.
Dot, who lost her leg when she suffered a blood clot four years ago, was scaling the wall at the Glasgow Climbing Centre when the gaffe occurred.
Her prosthetic leg is seen falling to the ground, but Dot continues with her climb unabated.
‘It’s alright, it’s just your leg that’s fell off’, a man below shouts as the limb falls to the ground.
Amazingly, it was the first time that Dot had attempted climbing.
She told the Scottish Sun: ‘I only went along to see what it was all about and I ended up at the top of the wall.’
The brilliant video was captured last week during Scottish amputee charity Finding Your Feet’s monthly trip to the climbing centre.
Charity member Ashley Reid said: ‘Dot was half way up the wall when her leg fell off and someone managed to capture it on camera.
‘Despite the fact she had lost her leg, she climbed all the way to the top of the wall and then climbed all the way back down. She has such an amazing personality and sense of humour – we love that she just kept going.’
