His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam sent a message of congratulations to Dato Laila Utama Joko Widodo, President of the Republic of Indonesia, as well as the Government and people of the Republic of Indonesia on the occasion of the Anniversary of the 71st Independence Day of the Republicof Indonesia.

In the message to Dato Laila Utama Joko Widodo, His Majesty expressed his great pleasure and satisfaction over the warm ties and cooperation between Brunei Darussalam and the Republic of Indonesia.

His Majesty also expressed his confidence that these warm ties will continue to be strengthened and enhanced in the future particularly at bilateral, regional and international level.

In ending his message, His Majesty and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Pemancha Pengiran Anak Haji Mohamed Alam pray that Dato Laila Utama Joko Widodo, Datin Ibu Hajah Iriana, and the Government and people of the Republic of Indonesia will always be under the guidance of Allah the Almighty.
