Brunei Darussalam's Beruang Blazers have acquired the services of three high calibre imports for the second Yuwang EBL Basketball League, which is set to start on August 19 in Kuching.
The import players are Lyndon Sayson Gudez and Hernal Razo Escosio from the Philippines as well as Delvin Goh Kok Chiang from Singapore.
Goh was a member of the Singapore Slingers side that finished second in the 2015/2016 ASEAN Basketball league.
The 21-year-old, who is 6'7 tall, was also in the Singapore Sea Games' squad in 2011, 2013 and 2015.
The centre can be a valuable asset for rebounding from the board.
Gudez has played in the country with Easyway, the Champions of SpeedSend Basketball Tournament in July.
He played a pivotal role in scoring and assisting in Easyway's win.
Escosio was Cesafi - the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc's rookie of the year 2012.
This is the first time that a basketball team from Brunei is competing in the semi professional league.
The team will play against defending champions Kuching Lord Tiger, Kota Kinabalu Eagles and Labuan Wasps.
Team captain Benjamin Norman Sim has vast experience playing in local and international competitions.
Other locals in the team are Muhd Zainul Ashyraf bin Haji Hussin, Yap Chun Ping, Choo Yung Jian, Muhd Jamri bin Ramlee, Ahmad Termizi bin Hj Noordeen, Soon Klan Leong, Lim Liang Wei, Darren Chai Wan Chye, Alvin Goh Wei Ming, Khoo Chin Kai and Leong Ming Seng.
