The monthly meeting of the Standing Committee for the National Assembly, held on April 4-5 in Vientiane Capital, considered and approved several national issues.

The meeting was presided over by President of the National Assembly, Mrs Pany Yathortou and in the presence of National Assembly members.

The Standing Committee for the National Assembly considered and contributed ideas about the plan and agenda of the first plenary session of the 8th legislature of the National Assembly, the plan to amend some out-of date laws, and create additional laws over the next five years.

The meeting approved an ASEAN ratification and reported on the dossiers that were approved by the government at the 104th International Labour Organisation Conference (ILO) in 2015.

The meeting considered and approved a development principle for the Nam Thuen 1 hydropower project, an extension of the concession for the Xayaboury hydropower dam and considered the issuance of a legal control by the National Assembly for the Nam Phak hydropower development dam.
