30 Attended 'Informed Society' Programme at Kg Bukit Sawat

The 'Informed Society' programme continued yesterday at Kampong Bukit Sawat in an effort to raise the community's understanding of the government policies to improve the people's livelihood.
Some 30 participants that included members of the Village Consultative Council (MPK) and village residents took part in the programme organised by the Information Department.
Acting Village Head of Kg Bukit Sawat, Awang Mohammad bin Abdullah said the programme also aimed to increase the participants' entrepreneurial know-how on various business activities.
The participants attended a briefing by officers from the Halal Food Control Division, Department of Syariah Affairs, Ministry of Religious Affairs who spoke on Halal food that is prepared in restaurants.
A briefing on entrepreneurship in Agrifood was also presented by an officer from the AgriFood Industry Division.
The participants also visited the Royal Regalia Building in the capital and Malay Technology Museum in Kg Kota Batu to learn about the history of how Bruneians earn a living.
Deputy Chairman of the Committee of the Informed Society Programme, Awang Mohammad Hisyam bin Idris said the briefings and visits which formed an integral part of the programme aimed to disseminate the latest information on the government's efforts to improve the people's livelihood.
He said the programme also provided a platform for cooperation between the Information Department and members of the community.
The programme concluded with the presentation of a certificates of appreciation by Mohammad Hisyam to the acting village head.
