Another house in Kampong Ayer collapsed on August 24, this time at Kampong Setia Fire and Rescue personnel from Sungai Lampai Fire Station rushed to the scene after receiving a distress call about the mishap at 1.41pm.

A marine boat with four personnel was dispatched to the scene led by ASO Haji Mohammad bin Haji Putra. The personnel said the dilapidated structure of the wooden house gave way as well as the wooden walkway.

No casualties were reported and the cause of the incident is still under investigation. This is second time such an incident has been recorded during a span of four months where in July this year, two houses in Kampong Matan including a homestay also collapsed.
