Rafael Ramazotti's quick-fire double steered DPMM FC four points clear off Hougang United FC in the 2-1 victory in the S League at the Jalan Besar Stadium in Singapore last night.

DPMM FC's defender Reduan Petara could have announced his first start in style with a goal within four minutes but he could not apply the decisive touch culminating from a knock-on from captain Rosmin Kamis.

Hougang United were let off a major scare after shot-stopper Ridhuan Barudin denied Paulo Sergio from point-blank range after the Portuguese benefited from an Azwan Ali special who looked sharp again.

The Cheetahs made the most of their chance with Stipe Plazibat, who received a clever pass from Iqbal Hussain, rifling home his deflected effort past DPMM FC's custodian Wardun Yussof in the 9th minute

Plazibat capitalized on uncertain defending from DPMM FC's defence but the visitors were relieved to see his effort crashed against the crossbar.

Azwan continued his fine form after unleashing his shot which took a deflection off Huzaifah Aziz before rattling against the crossbar.

DPMM FC's striker Rafael Ramazotti was brought down on the edge of the area before Sergi() curled wide the ensuing free-kick.

Sergio replicated his mazy footwork from training after skipping past few bodies but his shot was too feeble to cause Ridhuan problems.

The hosts created opportunities but defender Afiq Mat Noor blazed his effort wide.

DPMM FC pegged back on level terms in the 51st minute after Ramazotti slotted home the rebound after his initial shot was saved by Ridhuan.

The striker struck again after meeting Azwan Salleh's delivery with a header with Ridhuan caught in no man's land.

Azwan Ali produced a looping header from a Hendra Azam's ball but Ridhuan got back in time to tip it over.

The hosts missed a best chance to draw level after Fumiya Kogure lashed over from six yards after Plazibat's miscued shot fell to his path.

Hougang's midfielder Nur Ridho Jafri sets up Iqbal with a low cross but the latter lashed his effort wide in the 78th minute.

The hosts missed another chance to get back into level terms after Iqbal was denied by Wardun after being put through by Anumanthan Kumar before Jozef Kaplan spurned the chance to add his tally against the Brunei-based outfit following good combination play by his teammates.
