Vietnam’s 71st Anniversary Marked in Vientiane


Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Manh Hung addresses a reception to mark the 71st Anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Manh Hung hosted in Vientiane on September 1 a reception to mark the 71st Anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam.

 

Deputy Prime Minister Sonesay Siphandone and Vice President of the National Assembly, Lt. Sengnouan Sayalath, ambassadors, high-ranking officials from Laos and Vietnam attended the celebration.

 

“Looking back at the past 71 years, since the August Revolution of 1945 and the September 2nd 1945, the day President Ho Chi Minh delivered the Declaration of Independence, proclaiming to the people of Viet Nam and the world the birth of the Democratic Republic of Viet Nam. Now the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, the Vietnamese people have proudly overcome all difficulties, challenges, defeated all invaders, firmly defended independence, freedom and national unification, unceasingly promoted socio-economic and cultural development, ensured wellbeing and happiness to achieve the goal of a prosperous people and a strong, democratic, equitable and civilized country,” said Ambassador Nguyen Manh Hung.

 

Viet Nam is a dynamic developing country with socio-political stability, strong defense and security, constantly elevating position and role in the region and the world.

 

In 2016, Viet Nam and Laos completely finished the border demarcation, signed the Agreement on Border and Border Checkpoint Management and Sub-Agreement on Borderline and Border Markers.

 

After the successful completion of the 10th National Congress of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and the 12th National Congress of the Communist Party of Viet Nam, visits paid by Party General Secretary and President Bounnhang Vorachith, President Tran Dai Quang, Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith and other high-ranking leaders of the two Parties and States have elevated the special solidarity between the two neighbours to new heights.
