(KPL) Several local companies have donated 6.95 million kip along with medical equipment worth 7.3 million kip to the Lao Red Cross Society to support Covid-19 fight in the country.

The donors include Saly Group (Savanh Brewery, Khounkham Group, Khamsamay Chaleunxay Co.,) and Mamaco Parma.

Held on Dec 8, the handover took place between Mr Sayyan Vannouvong, a representative of Saly Group and Mrs Ouimala Viphonehien, manager of Mamaco Parma, and Mr Phouthon Muangpak, President of the Lao Red Cross.

Addressing the handover ceremony, Mr Phouthon expressed gratitude to the companies noting that their generous support constituted significant contribution to the prevention and containment efforts against Covid-19 in the Lao PDR.

He also assured the donors that the financial and material assistance will be used to help the victims of Covid-19 in quarantine centres and field hospitals.
