Covid-19 Cases Drop To 189

KOTA KINABALU

 

Covid-19 infections in Sabah returned to the below 200 mark on Sunday with 189 cases recorded.

 

Kota Kinabalu remained the highest contributor to the statistics with 33 new cases reported followed by Tuaran, 30, Ranau 21, Kota Belud 18, Papar and Penampang 15 each and Sandakan and Putatan 10 each.

 

Seven districts recorded under 10 cases while there were no new cases in 10 other districts.

 

Three fatalities were recorded on Sunday, one each in Tawau, Keningau and Tuaran.

 

State Covid-19 spokesperson Datuk Seri Panglima Masidi Manjun said 800 people are still being treated for the virus with 426 of them in hospitals, 366 in the public low risk quarantine centres, six in temporary detention centres/prison and two in private medical facilities.

 

He also said that 47 are in the ICU where 15 are on ventilators.

 

Of the total 189 cases on Sunday, 186 were in categories 1 and two in categories 3 and 5 while the remaining one case is under further evaluation by the state Health Department.
