37 new COVID-19 cases were recorded, taking the country's total COVID-19 cases to 15,634.

 

The Ministry of Health in its press release stated that out of the new cases, 12 are local while the 25 others are imported cases. Meanwhile, 2,950 lab tests were carried out in the past 24 hours, with the rate of positive cases at 1.25 per cent.

 

There are 176 active cases after 6 cases recovered, bringing the total recovered cases to 15,356. The bed occupancy rate in isolation centres nationwide is 4.3 per cent.

 

As of the 8th of January 2022, 94.6 per cent of the total population have received at least one dose, 93.6 per cent have received 2 doses, and 28 per cent have received 3 doses of the vaccine. For the movement restriction carried out from 10 at night until 4 in the morning, 8 violations of the directive nationwide were issued with compound fines.
