Two foreign men pleaded guilty for an offence under the Excise Order 2006.

 

36-year old Malaysian man, Chang Foh Hin, was charged for an offence of possessing 154 cartons of cigarettes of various brands, 439 bottles of alcoholic drinks and cash money amounting to $3,200 believed to be the cigarettes sales proceeds. The accused failed to settle the $150,200 fine and was sentenced to 33 months imprisonment starting yesterday.

 

Meanwhile, Indonesian man, Antarmy Scorpio, 44 years old, was charged for possessing 9 cartons and 10 packs of cigarettes of various brands. The court has given until the 16th of May 2022 to settle the $6,200 fine or 6 months imprisonment in default.  All the contraband were seized to be destroyed.
