Local Companies Join Hands To Produce Organic Fertilizers For Lao Farmers

(KPL) The Asia Organic Agriculture Co., Ltd signed a joint venture agreement with the Phanphet Agricultural Development Co., Ltd in Vientiane Province on Jan 14 to produce organic fertilizer for domestic producers.
The agreement was signed by President of the Asia Organic Agriculture Xaypaseuth Tangsana, Chairman of the Phanphet Agricultural Development Thongsavanh Meeboun in the presence of Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Phet Phomphiphak, and representatives of relevant authorities.
“Earthworm organic fertilizer factory of the Asia Organic Agriculture has engaged in bio-fertilizer production and produced earthworm fertilizer for domestic market so that local farmers can enjoy quality chemical free product that can restore degraded soil,” said Mr Xaypaseuth.
Under the contract, the factory will produce 10,000-50,000 tons of earthworm fertilizer per year for the Phanphet Agricultural Development to distribute to local farmers and in mid-2022, it will cooperate with the government, the Guangzhou’s Agricultural Processing to establish an agriculture learning centre.
The Earthworm Organic Fertilizer Factory was built in 2016 with a total investment of US$3.38 million and an annual production capacity of 50,000-100,000 tonnes.
The plant started production in 2018. Since then the factory has constantly increased its annual production from 3,000 tonnes of fertilizers in 2018, to 9,000 tonnes in 2019, 15,000 tonnes in 2020, and 20,000 tonnes in 2021.
