(KPL) The government has urged the Ministry of Planning and Investment to work with the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and relevant sectors and authorities to revise policies and legal instruments according to the requirements of current situation.

At the government’s monthly meeting for January held on Jan 20-21 under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Phankham Viphavanh, the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry briefed the cabinet members about difficulties and challenges in doing business in the country.

The government also urged the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry to enhance its role, especially by establishing more groups or associations of businesses.

Deputy Minister and Government Spokeswoman Thipphakone Chanthavongsa said that the government’s priorities for February include continuing to put a focus on implementing in a more concrete manner the two national agendas especially that related to the addressing of economic and finance difficulties; the promotion of production, trade, service and tourism especially in the provinces located along the Laos-China railway; addressing issues related to doing business, the use of state vehicles and illegal vehicles, mining and goods export as well as land use and the implementation of control and containment efforts against Covid-19.
