The Department of Environment, Park and Recreation Jastre issued a $300 compound fine to an individual for an offence under the Minor Offences Act, Chapter 30, which is throwing rubbish from a vehicle at a road going into Meragang Beach

He was given 7 days to settle the fine. In default he will be brought to court where a $1,000 fine will be imposed for the first offence, while for the second and subsequent offence, a $3,000 fine as well as imprisonment for a term not exceeding 3 months will be imposed.
