Enter Highways Before 9am, PLUS Advises Road Users

PETALING JAYA

Road users travelling via the North-South Expressway towards the Klang Valley are advised to enter the highways before 9am between Feb 4 and Feb 6, advised PLUS Malaysia Berhad (PLUS).

In a statement on Feb 4, it said that an increasing traffic trend was recorded on the second day of Chinese New Year (Feb 2) when the North-South Expressway saw a surge in traffic from all states.

A similar traffic pattern was expected to be repeated tomorrow (Feb 5) and Sunday (Feb 6) as those taking extended days off along with the school holidays would begin their journey back to the Klang Valley.

PLUS chief operating officer Datuk Zakaria Ahmad Zabidi advised the public to plan their journey home according to their released return to Klang Valley Travel Time Advisory (TTA).

"We have made the necessary preparations to ensure highway customers enjoy a comfortable return journey to the city.

"Among these are the deployment of additional PLUSRonda teams to assist those who may encounter problems with their vehicles," he said.

Zakaria also advised users to ensure their Touch n’ Go cards or ewallets for RFID transactions had sufficient balance for a smooth journey especially at toll plazas.

"Users are also urged to utilise existing travel applications to pre-emptively plan your routes as a means to avoid congestion along the highway," he added.

Users can get the latest highway updates or traffic situations through PLUS Malaysia’s app, social media channels or their website at www.plus.com.my
