BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN

Following the statement issued by the Ministry of Health on home clusters involving students in several schools, the Ministry of Education urge for the cooperation of the public, especially parents to be careful and vigilant by taking into account health advices before deciding to go out with family members for less essential purposes. This is because it can lead to the exposure of family members to infections that can affect students' attendance to conduct face-to-face learning. The Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education would like to clarify that so far, no school clusters have been detected.

However, Brunei Darussalam is currently in the Early Endemic Phase and that COVID-19 cases especially with the Omicron variant will be expected to increase, with cases that can be detected anywhere including residential houses, public places, business premises or educational institutions. Therefore, members of the public must continue to adhere to the SOPs and guidelines set by the Government and practice social responsibility as we live with COVID-19 such as wear a well-fitting face mask when going out or around others; practice physical distancing; practice personal hygiene at all times; conduct ART tests regularly and get the third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
