The spread of COVID-19 has changed the world and Brunei Darussalam's landscape. However, it cannot be denied that COVID-19 has made a major impact in various aspects of life including the Ministry of Home Affairs's plan implementation in efforts to safeguard public safety, Strengthen Community Solidarity and Catalyse Socio-Economic Development. The Minister of Home Affairs shared the matter at a Muzakarah or Dialogue Session between the Ministry of Home Affairs and its departments and 17 Members of the Legislative Council yesterday morning.

 

 Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong explained that with challenges related to the limited number of gatherings and implementing health protocols during COVID-19 transmission, a number of ideas has come up to explore alternative methods as an addition for the existing voting methods that help the voting process and selection of Mukim Penghulu and Village Head candidates to run smoothly.

 

Earlier, Members of the Legislative Council viewed an exhibition organized by the Ministry of Home Affairs and its departments. The delegation of Members of the Legislative Council was led by Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Abdul Hamid @ Sabli bin Haji Arshad.
