Road users, particularly residents of Kampung Lugu National Housing Scheme can now reduce their travel time to Brunei Muara District with the opening of Lugu Flyover at the junction.

It was officiated by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Ingenieur Awang Haji Suhaimi Bin Haji Gafar, Minister of Development. The almost 13 million dollars project began its construction in November 2019 and took 24 months to be completed. The construction scope included includes improving the main access of RPN Kampung Lugu from the Muara-Tutong Highway, construction of twin bridges, provision of street lights and installation of security fences.

The event ran concurrently with the plantation of 500 saplings at the project site as part of the efforts to realised one of the goals under the Wawasan Brunei 2035 under the Green Nation Strategy. Also present was Dato Seri Paduka Architect Awang Haji Marzuke Bin Haji Mohsin, Deputy Minister of Development.
