BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN

To commemorate International Childhood Cancer Day, ICCD, the 29th Executive Development Programme for Senior Government Officers' Community Outreach Programme organised the Spreading Support and Awareness of Childhood Cancer Campaign. The launching was held yesterday morning at Hua Ho Mall, Manggis.

The campaign was officiated by Hajah Nor Ashikin binti Haji Johari, Permanent Secretary for Community and Culture at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports. The Programme is a concept developed by a group of six senior government officers, aims to provide a sustainable donation drive, promote childhood cancer awareness amongst the community, express support for children and adolescents with cancer, the survivors and their families and at the same time to protect the environment. The concept involved obtaining drawings by children cancer survivors and engaging retail establishments to help sell and promote the drawings.

Through the programme, Hua Ho Department Store has kindly taken up the responsibility and volunteered to partake and support the programme through the sale of reusable shopping bags. Each reusable shopping bag will feature a compilation of unique artworks, which will be sold to the public starting April 2022 and all proceeds will be donated to Yayasan Kanser Kanak- Kanak, YASKA Brunei.
