The Bandar Magistrate's Court yesterday ordered a 39-year-old local man to undergo a psychological evaluation as the prosecution has doubts over his mental health as he faces a charge of assault of a man.

Salman Arshad allegedly punched a 32-year-old man at the Mental Health Unit of Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital at 9.15am on April 5, 2016.

DPP Vuina Song informed Magistrate Pengiran Shahyzul Pengiran Abdul Rahman that the doctors' report on the defendant's mental status will be ready in five days.

The magistrate fixed April 12 for further mention of the case whilst releasing the defendant on court bail.
