There were 853 new people that were found positive for the said disease, the Department of Health (DOH) reported on Friday, March 4.

This was also the lowest tally of new cases in a single-day since the start of year 2022.

For three consecutive days, the Philippines has reported less than 1,000 new Covid-19 cases.

Moreover, since Feb. 19, the number of daily Covid-19 cases stayed below 2,000.

The country’s running count of confirmed Covid-19 infections stood at 3,665,747.

Recoveries rose by 1,062 to 3,558,747. However, the death toll also increased to 56,770 after 232 more patients were confirmed to have died because of Covid-19.

The total recoveries and deaths left the number of active cases nationwide to 50,230 or only 1.4 percent of the overall case count.

The big chunk of the active cases or 45,300 have mild symptoms, while 2,773 are moderate; 1,411 are severe; 450 have no symptoms; and 296 are in critical state.

Two laboratories did not submit their data on time, the DOH said. With this, their data is not yet included in Friday’s case report.

Even if the cases are decreasing, the DOH still reminded the public the importance of self-isolation if they are experiencing symptoms.

“Sa oras na makaramdam ng sintomas, agad na mag-isolate at magpatest. Tandaan ang right test at the right time. Agad rin na magpabakuna upang makakuha ng dagdag na proteksyon laban sa Covid-19 (As soon as you feel any symptoms, immediately isolate and get tested. Remember the importance of the right test at the right time. Also get vaccinated immediately to get extra protection against Covid-19),” the DOH said.
