Theft Activity Foiled

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN

 

Two local men aged 36 and 51 have been arrested by detectives of Belait and Tutong Police District, Royal Brunei Police Force. Both of them were suspected to be involved in theft at several mosques in the country.

 

The incident was revealed as a result of investigation and surveillance carried out via closed circuit television CCTV footage at Kampung Labi Mosque, Belait District, reported on 6th March. Items reported stolen from the mosque including a vacuum, water filter, body temperature sensors and several other items were found as a result of the Police investigation. Both suspects were believed to be involved in theft reports of mosque items at several mosques in Tutong District. The two suspects will face charges under Section 380 A of the Penal Code Chapter 22 which carries the penalty of imprisonment as well as whipping.
