Sixty-four million Filipinos were already fully vaccinated against Covid-19, the Department of Health (DOH) said.

DOH Undersecretary Myrna Cabotaje said that the government has already administered about 137 million Covid-19 vaccine doses as of March 9.

“Of these 137 million, 64 million are already fully vaccinated individuals and we have 10.7 million booster shots,” she said during a press briefing on Thursday, March 10.

Cabotaje said that they are targeting to vaccinate 70 million Filipinos by the end of this month.

“Nag set tayo ng milestone. Ang milestones natin ngayon (We have set milestones. These are) : 70 million fully vaccinated by March. And then 90 million Filipinos— fully vaccinated by the end of June 2022,” she said.

“We have already set the 70 million. We are at 64 million… Tingnan natin sa Bayanihan, Bakunahan kung ano yung ma-accomplish (Let’s see what will be the accomplishment in the Bayanihan, Bakunahan). We will see if we need to recalibrate,” she said.

For the fourth round of the national vaccination drive, the government is targeting to vaccinate 1.8 million people. This program started on Thursday, March 10 until Saturday, March 12.

Cabotaje is hopeful that they would reach their target of vaccinating 70 million by the end of March.
