23,945 New Covid Cases, 70 More Deaths

BANGKOK
The country registered 70 more Covid-19 fatalities and 23,945 new cases during the previous 24 hours, the Public Health Ministry announced on Wednesday morning.
This compared with the 70 coronavirus-related fatalities and 19,742 new cases reported on Tuesday morning.
There were 23,897 local cases and 48 imported ones.
On Tuesday, 23,339 Covid-19 patients were discharged from hospitals after recovering from the coronavirus while 221,972 others were receiving treatment (up from 221,436 on the previous day).
Since the pandemic started in early 2020, there have been 3,250,642 Covid-19 cases, including 1,027,207 this year, with 3,004,752 complete recoveries to date.
The accumulated death toll stood at 23,918 since the beginning of the pandemic, including 2,220 so far this year.
The highest number of Covid-related fatalities in a 24-hour period was 312 recorded on Aug 13, 2021. The highest number of cases was 25,615 on Feb 26.
